President's Welcome

Welcome existing members, new members, and visitors to the Palm City Art Associates community of artists.  As I prepare for my fourth year as president, I am still enthusiastic and excited to start a new season. I will continue to gather and brainstorm with the board members to bring new ideas to the members.  Last year we brought interactive events to our meetings and are committed to continue with this path.  Our paint social in December was very well received and we will be repeating it again this coming season. We also had a lot of fun at our creative off premise Spring Social and hope to have more fun this year. We strengthened our partnership with The Village Club and Preserve and will continue to offer painting classes. Please attend meetings starting in October and check your email to get all the information for coming events.

We will continue to build on what we started in keeping with the changing times but still maintain our roots. Members meet every second Wednesday of the month from October to May to share and learn. Our Monthly Demo schedule this year is all set and the overhead camera helps to display our demonstrations with an enhanced view. We will  continue with our 37th judged Annual Art Show and Sale in February along with some enhanced events. We continue to maintain partners with local venues to sell your artwork. Our scholarship program is stronger than ever and with a generous donation from a member, we will now  have four scholarships to offer to local high school seniors pursuing an education in Art. You can now access the scholarship form on this website and apply here.

As president, I cannot do it alone. I work closely with a hardworking dedicated board that brings to the table new ideas and opportunities. There are also over 20 committee members helping to keep the organization going. There is always room for you to get involved and I encourage you all to bring your ideas forward. We are a diverse group of artists and we hope to offer something for everyone.

Please check this website often as it is very informative and up to date.

Looking forward to a creative 2025/2026 season.

Who We Are

2022-2024 Board Members

Laura Tiano grew up in New Jersey, raised her family there then fulfilled her desire to move to Florida eight years  ago, and loves Florida living! She always had a passion for art and worked in the Graphic Arts industry after college. Watercolor painting has always been her medium until she recently discovered the quick pace of Acrylics. In her free time, She enjoys golfing, gardening and boating.

Nancy Mich is originally a Connecticut artist. She enjoy painting the barns, churches, and landscapes of the Northeast. She moved to Port St Lucie eight years ago, and now enjoys painting the scenes of south Florida. She paints and teaches in  all mediums, Acrylic, Oil, Pastel, and Watercolor.

Barbara B. Catana Ruge  Barbara has been drawing and painting from early childhood under the guidance of her talented father who was educated in Italy. Art and music filled the household and extended into school and community life. In addition to watercolor 2D artworks, Barbara has had her hands on interior decorating, quilting, embroidery, custom greeting cards, and furniture refinishing. She has carried these skills forward to her children and grandchildren, who shine through their chosen artforms. Presently semi-retired from real estate, Barb is emerging into the local art community with much catching up to do, she says. Watercolor is her special medium of choice; however, she is practicing new techniques with various mixed media. Barbara creates artworks that hopefully evoke an emotion, a memory, or a conversation. The Great Egret is her

spiritual muse.

Alicia English She is a diverse mixed media artist, but prefer acrylic because of its versatility, and use it in many ways to get in touch with whatever mood resonates. "Whenever someone feels my artwork maybe we are vibrating through the same frequency? Every creation that flows into my subconscious through the brush to the canvas is genuine, pure and an embodiment of me. A guided visual form of meditation, freedom and automatism. Heart, soul and the innate talent of my parents enable a free-flowing expression, that is unique as our fingerprints. Getting in touch with myself internally is something that can be demanding, but it exposes itself in the most beautiful forms I can relay. I hope anyone and everyone can not only see, but feel, absorb and relate to my paintings on all levels".

She continues to exhibit her originals in New York, California and Florida

Donna Jutila moved to Palm City from Connecticut 5 years ago. She has always appreciated the arts but it wasn’t until she lived in Paris in the late 90’s that she had the time to try oil painting. The Treasure Coast’s art community is now providing renewed inspiration.

Becki Thomas She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  In February 2016, she took a watercolor class in Vieques, Puerto Rico, and was immediately hooked. Before that, her creative energy was fulfilled by designing and renovating homes.
She divides her time each year between Maine, New Mexico, and Florida.  "These diverse landscapes and cultures always bring new inspirations.  Within my paintings, you will see gardens, flowers, animals, architecture, portraits of people, and folk art.  What they have in common are bold, bright colors".
She is affiliated with many product development websites, as such her images can be found on desk calendars, lampshades, coasters, tissue boxes, shower curtains, dish towels, and mural tiles to name a few.
She is a member of the Palm City Art Association, The Artists of Picacho Hills in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and The New Mexico Watercolor Society.
As she seems to be always on the move, her “studio” is wherever she finds herself!
